Shake Dat Infant, Da G

Final Movie

Artist's Statement

Consider luck (random events attributed to chance or fortune) versus destiny (pre-determined and purpose driven events). Meditate on what causes one to look at a situation and determine whether it is luck or destiny.

Intent

As you notice in the Test Images and Movies, the style and content of this piece has completely changed. But the intent and idea for the piece remains the same. Growing up, I was taught to respect my parents and obey them. The older I get the more I need to realize that, they are human just like me. The family, even if they don’t shake you as an infant, they do scare you and you eventually grow up to scare them.

For those of you who are offended, good. This animation is not for the faint of heart and if you do get offended, that means you need to have more of an open mind. I wanted to go way over the top with this animation because I know a lot of peple get offended by stupid stuff, and I'm hoping this is one of those things. If you keep an open mind and realize that this is meant to be funny and over the top you'll enjoy it much more.

The Story

Storyboard - Download PDF

This is a music video that parallels the idea of shaking babies to a baby shaking it's mom by hapenstance of the mom tripping on a raddle.

The colors used in this animation are very basic, to keep the childish feel to it. I wanted it to look very friendly to juxtapose the idea shaking babies. The forms too are exaggerated to give more of an emphasis on the idea.
